I know some people want me to go in to detail as to what my next step in life is and how that effects so many things. I can't sit down and have a conversation with everyone so I thought this was a great way to explain where I am and where I am going today.
First of all I am employed by a contractor on a Navy base working with US Customs and have been for 11 years. During that time I have traveled and worked with some amazing people and on some amazing projects. I have been part of some really great technological accomplishments. I work with a team that can do anything and in some cases done the impossible for this country. I can't go into detail because I don't want lawyers and feds asking me why I gave details so I will leave those out.
I will say being part of the team that brought the Unmanned Predator aircraft to Corpus Christi is my greatest professional accomplishment. This will allow the men and women who work to secure our nation to be safer and closer to home as they do their job better and have greater success.
My greatest personal accomplishment here would clearly have to be working alongside and marrying my bride. She is my best friend and biggest encourager in life.
I will be leaving this job after 11 years at noon on Friday and putting all my energy and focus into growing a campus for Bay Area Fellowship. I have been the Campus Pastor for Bay Area Fellowship West Side since May and we have seen God do some amazing things at that campus. I hope many of you would continue to follow our campus and eventually support and take part in the greater things yet to come. I serve under an amazing Senior Pastor Bil Cornelius and my Multi Site Pastor John Atkinson. These men have been mentors of mine for years and this process has taken many years to get to this point.
For some this may seem sudden but believe me it has taken years for God to get me where I needed to be in order to trust me with such an overwhelming honor of leading a campus. I am just simply taking the last step to fully realizing the dream of being a Pastor full time vocationally. As Pastor John has said many times, we are all in full-time ministry but there are only a few of us that are crazy enough to make it full-time vocational ministry. It is a huge change for me and my family but one we entered into with a lot of prayer and input from people who love us and also spent time praying with us.
So what's next? Well Bay Area Fellowship is ranking as the 16th fastest growing church in America and that is not counting the West Side campus so look for us to be in the top 10 next year. We are putting in to effect the vision of Pastor Bil & Jessica Cornelius that will eventually establish the West Side campus as a fully functional Dream Center. In that campus we will have multiple weekly worship and teaching services because leading people to Christ is the main reason we are there anyway. The supporting ministries will include clothing, diapers, food, bible study, job training, life resources such as parenting, marriage, financial, business training, education and many more yet to come. We are getting back to what the church was supposed to be about all along and that is sharing the love of Christ and caring for the people around us. The church is the greatest hope for the next generation and we are bringing it to the people that need it most. Come be a part of a the next big thing that will last for eternity. If you are near Corpus Christi and don't attend a church please consider us. If you don't live near us then please get involved in your local church and support it today.
